Watch this video and write a response to the issue about ordering food at a restaurant (for ESL Level 3/4)

Final Project (note: this lesson is at least two 50-minute classes)

Day One

Step one: In the computer lab, students will individually visit TrackStar and look up track# 359287 and view several commercials for each link. After viewing at least three commercials answer the questions, write your response on a seperate sheet of paper.

Step two: In the classroom, in groups of four, choose a product to sell and write a commercial (as a script) to sell the product. Use this worksheet to write the commercial.

Day Two

Each group will take a turn in the hallway video-taping their commercial. After the commercial is filmed, the group will upload the video to Youtube and use Jumpcut to edit and post the commercial to the class wiki.

Day Three (extra fun!)

Each student will be supplied with monopoly money. The class will watch each video and take notes on what they liked and why. After watching all the videos, each students will be able to "buy" a/some products. They will have to state their reasons for deciding on the purchase(s) and the group with the most "sales" will get extra points on their project.

Here is the rubric for this assignment.

Hi Rainbow, You have a lot of interesting content on your page. I was interest to see the videos made about the Immigration Raid in Postville-- not being a Youtube user until now they were new to me. But it is also very disturbing to see the commentaries of people on Youtube who responded with very angry, racist and vitrolic responses. Anyway, your page turned me on to some new resources so thanks!

Hi Rainbow, I'm originally from San Francisco. I lived in Minnesota a while back but now live in Colorado. I still miss the ocean, so my husband and I are driving out to San Francisco at the end of this month for our ocean fix!

Hi Rainbow - I got your comment - and would be happy to review your activities. I see you have a lot posted here; is there any more to it? Anything you need to send to an email address? If so, my email is listed in the class roster. Feel free to send it my way. I'd love to get some feedback on a couple of my activities. Kristen has also been looking at them, since she was going on vacation this past week, the two of us spent some time emailing back and forth. I'll take a look at yours later this evening and get back to you. Hope things are going well. Cindy
