ACTIVITY 1: Trekking in the Andes of Peru (student instructions)
Web lesson: Open the following word document for instructions and evaluation information. Then follow this link to the lesson in TrackStar.
ACTIVITY 2: A Quinceañera Party (student instructions)
Wiki Lesson: During this time in the language computer lab, you will independently watch the following video about a Quinceañera celebration. As you watch the video, take notes comparing how a Quinceañera is similar to a wedding (Hint: make a "T" chart with Quinceañera on one side and Wedding on the other). You may write your answers in English. Complete the following activities watching the video as many times as necessary to complete them. If you have a question, raise your hand and I will come over to help you.
Activity 1: Matching Exercise for Quinceañera video: In this exercise, you will review old vocabulary and take educated guesses on a few new vocabulary words using strategies we have learned this year such as cognates and parts of speech. You may want to write these words down so that you can use them in the next two exercises.
Activity 2: Crossword Exercise for Quinceañera video: Now you will use the vocabulary you learned in the prior exercise to complete this crossword puzzle. If you forget a word, go back to the previous exercise.
Activity 3: Sequencing Activity for Quinceañera video: Finally, you will put some sentences in the order they appear in the video (which is also the order they occur on the day of a Quinceañera. The sentences use vocabulary presented above. You may watch the video multiple times as well as review the previous activities to help you understand the statments.
The following activities will be used to help you review vocabulary and verbs that you learned in Spanish 2. Open up "La Puerta del Colegio" (sung by Chicos Aventura) in the language listening lab component. This is a listening practice activity. You will be graded on your effort and participation. Do you best and make guesses, even if you think they're wrong!
Step 1: Preview
As you listen the first time to the song, you will follow along with the text. Some words are underlined; if you click on them, they give you a translation of the word in English or a hint for the word in Spanish. Now, open up this link; you will need to select "preview" for the underline function to work. You will listen to the song once at this step.
Step 2: Practice
A. You are now going to listen a second time to the song, filling in the blanks with the missing words. You may listen as many times as you need to, and rewind or pause the song, but you will have only 10 minutes to complete the activity. Please do not have the previous activity open during this section. The timer will start as soon as you open up this link. You may begin!
B. Next open up this link and follow the directions for reviewing verb forms from Spanish 2. You don't need to listen to the music for this step, but are welcome to have the music playing in the background while you work.
Step 3: Review
Finally, you will create a photo slide show to accompany the text of the song. Get together with your group of three or four and begin working, using the information found here.

Hey Cindy, did you have others try out your lessons yet? We need 2-3 classmates to do so)... I think there's only 2-3 of us taking it for credit, maybe we can all do each others'?
